@matrix depends on what you do but at some point you need to write and there is things where the ratio is almost all writes (logging, video taping, backups, …).
@matrix Nah, flash produces a lot of heat on writes, stuff like SD cards can basically burn if they don't throttle the speed correctly. Meanwhile an HDD does produce a bit of heat but not so much, specially ones from the last few years.
@thatbrickster@matrix Pretty sure that one is just for pressure differences, which are quite wild on earth. (you can have yogurts popping by going from cold sea level to hot mountains)
