@LukeAlmighty
I only played it for 40 minutes, don't expect an essay.
I feel extremely disappointed, I haven't even tried the Can it run Crysis meme setting.
The remaster is based on the CryEngine 3 version for PS3 and Xbox 360, which don't feature multiplayer (I don't care about that) and the Ascension level. They haven't bothered to reimplement it so it's not in.
The game is buggy. First time I launch it, the mouse cursor stayed on. First thing I noticed is that you can't crouch while moving. Another thing is you can't jump in speed mode. The default suit mode is the simplified console mode from Crysis 2 and 3 and even if you set it to classic the screen effects stay.
It looks good and SVOGI is great, however the lighting has a much different tone, the same tone as the old ports and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
@matrix Wait... They made the strength mode default and armor drains power in idle??? WTF? I thought they changed the control, but no... They remade enen the mechanics... ![]()
@okabe_rintarou @LukeAlmighty Alex from Digital Foundry mentioned that the version they played still didn't have the proper light shafts in the alien ship. I now have lost any hope that they brought those in for the release.
@matrix "The default suit mode is the simplified console mode from Crysis 2 and 3"
What the fuck do they not understand about the word "remaster"?
It's a fucking promise of nostalgia bomb, not some modern BS compromise they were forced into because of consoles.
