Kids need a purpose. They need to know that some activity/play is stimulating and enabeling tbem to learn life-important skills.

So, we throw them to school to sit in one place for hours. It's obvious that their hobbies, no matter how infantile or simple will always be 100 times more meaningful then sitting in place for hours.

In other words, if you are too lazy to show them what to learn, they will learn tbe thirst thing they see anyway.
