@matrix nanny state lol
Australian kids aren't going to be misled about spiders because of some cartoon. If they're going to be misled about spiders, it'll be because of encountering them first-hand.
@Zerglingman @matrix spiders that look like that one are fine, but if its the size of your palm and covered in fur then don't mess around with it
@PROtoss987 @matrix Huntsmen are pretty chill though?
Actually these days I stick my finger next to any spider I see that's big enough to warrant a size comparison, and take a photo, to get people to help me ID it later.
@Zerglingman @matrix Are they? I don't see spiders often, there's some small ones in my home, but if it's got fur I'd avoid/crush them
@PROtoss987 @matrix I crush any spider found inside my house, no questions asked. If they're outdoors and small, or clearly not dangerous (garden spiders, longlegs), I'll probably leave them alone.
But yeah, AFAIK, huntsmen don't care about humans, they just want to eat other spiders. Pretty cool bros actually.
@Zerglingman @matrix I'd rather some longlegs in corners of my room than flies everywhere, roommates aren't responsible with what they leave lying around.
Good to know because they look terrifying

@matrix
You can complain about nanny state, but in this case I totally agree with the ban... (extremly rare, but this is seriously shitty thing to be broadcasting)

@matrix almost every animal has their dangerous version in Australia.

"oh look, a ladybug.. awww so beauti AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHRRGHHHHHH!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
