Looks like Crysis 2 remastered can't handle loading from an HDD and freezes when entering a new area. I'm gonna try moving it to a SSD.

I have to redownload it to move it to a different drive. :pepeDread: Fucking Epic Games Store :angry_pepe:

Stutters are now gone. This is bullshit though. The engine should be able to load assets beforehand.

@matrix I didn’t even know there was a remastered for Crysis 2. Good to see that the age-old question of “Can it run Crysis?” Is relevant once again.

@matrix did the Crysis 3 remaster come out?

It’s a great franchise. And I hated the original Crysis for many many years. That’s changed.

@doug It did, but there's very little visible difference compared to the original.
Original Crysis is still amazing. The remaster is pretty bad.

@matrix I’m reading reviews of it now. Sad that they messed that up. I’m still in awe of how good the original looks to this day

@matrix I bet its some propertiary 11 herbs and spices middleware bullshit, like Nvidia GameWorks.
@matrix Ah yes, the engine that has a university outreach program. A program where you get the editor/tools for CryEngine, but you can't actually compile an actual game executable yourself, you can only play your project inside the editor.
Have to go thru a retarded process of sending your project, assets, code, fucking everything to a german FTP server, wait a few months for some arbitary review process and then hopefully get a compiled .exe back in an email.
@matrix That's the common theme with all similar programs, Sony's PS4 one being the absolute worst.

Weirdly enough, during the 4 year lifetime of the cryengine program my university only had 3 'serious' projects try using it.
Can't imagine why 🤔
