@matrix It comes off as one of those buzzwords, like battlestation, an attempt to make computers sound more cool and fulfilling than they actually are.

@matrix They're cool for some things, but I mean, I doubt anyone who's been in an actual battle calls a computer a battlestation.

@parker @matrix I think it’s more like “EDC” to delineate something you actually use. I own 3 laptops, but 2 of them collect dust until I have specific use for them. So I can’t really say what it’s like to use the other 2 regularly, only the one I use daily.

It can turn into a buzzword for gearheard arguments, just like EDC. But that’s a problem with the nerds and not the term.

@parker @matrix It's almost as annoying as EDC threads. They love that term, too.
