You are correct on plain vanilla mastodon. But QOTO has quite a few extra features and formatted posts is one of them.
@freemo @Jojothegoodperson My admin, @matrix is running his own fork of Mastodon. I wonder if he could add that. Or I could finally get off my ass and add it in myself.
