How come you didn't notice Japan has some weird preference for WMV?

Only place I've seen wmv used to encode video in recent years has been jav.

@alyx Isn't it just old JAV that they didn't reencode? All the new ones I've seen are x264.

Don't know what old means for you, and I don't exactly keep track of release dates or x264 to wmv ratios, I just know that wmv has lasted far too long, and I keep stumbling upon it in this niche use case.
