100GB of cache? He his running it on a Mainframe ?

@Dowito @matrix Seen lots of unreal 5 games that seem to try to expand the shader cache as far as you will let it, or more..

@HonkHonkBoom @matrix
Another point for modern game industry and overreliance on a single graphic engine.

@Dowito @matrix Yeah, UE5 doing everything for devs is rather a plague, sure, filling in the gaps here and there is fine if you go back and hand optimize, but they don't ever even think of doing that, because Epic marketed the engine as a replacement for skill and experience.
@matrix so aaa games literally cannot function without 100+gb install sizes.

Wonderful! (I am seething with rage)
Triple-A studios treat hardware requirements like the federal government treats the debt ceiling.
If hardware companies stopped raising the hardware debt ceiling we wouldnt have these issues. Most not all optimization came from necessity not from autistic obsession.
I think we need to shut down the whole GPU industry until we figure out what the hell is going on :nod:
GPU will be put on hiatus until crypto and programmers stop being niggers.
We just need common sense Taiwanese microchip manufacturing control :nod:
@Dudebro @matrix @SK1ZM @Hoss buying new hardware for games that could run on a 360 💀💀💀💀
You will unlock hardware capability through micro transactions and be happy.

@SK1ZM @Dudebro @matrix @Hoss hearing all of the problems pc players are having while I am casually enjoying BL4 without knowing what kind of GPU it is running on makes me very happy I only play games on my xbox

Yes but console games in general run poorly so you dont notice the difference :HazeSmug:

@Dudebro @matrix @SK1ZM @Hoss I really wouldn't notice

I spend all day working on a computer - my brain says computer is for work - if I play a video game, I want to play it on my TV (same with videos)

I really don't care very much and go many months without playing games

Yeah I was just making the pc master race meme tbh.
We probably should be thanking the base level gpus jewing customers with 8gb ram. Devs are still forced to make their product work for the biggest segment of the market.
Imagine if modern games needed the 512 gb ram for baseline.
@SK1ZM @matrix Is this a trick question?
It feelz like a trick question.
@NonPlayableClown @matrix
Publishing a 500Gb game that is a half-arsed remake of a 40kb 80s game :marseytroublemaker:
@matrix So, they'll be making 64 GB memory GPUs soon enough, I'm guessing? :apupitchfork:
