Is it illegal to just fire a few warning shots in the air, or towards a patch of soil somewhere (I'm saying soil and not ground, cause I'm guessing shrapnel is likely to ricochet off pavement)?

Considering the looks of that crowd, I don't see anyone there with the balls to risk their life. I'm guessing most will just panic the hell out when they hear up close just how loud a firearm can be.

@realcaseyrollins @djsumdog @alyx Doing a warning shot means you've discharged your firearm without it being necessary to do so, by definition. It might be pragmatic, and save lives, but it's legal a problem which is why civilians are told to only shoot to kill.
