@beardalaxy the weeds aren't really a problem in horizons, the flowers don't die either, and I never even had a villager pack their bags and go
so I'd suggest you try to return and chill anyway if you want
@tomie i sold the game because i couldn't play it for like 3 months and then pso2 came out so i never played it again xP
backed up my save though so i could always emulate it or whatever. i get a weird feeling when i even just think about going back though. i know my town is gonna be full of weeds. even though i know the villagers are much nicer these days, idk, i feel like i'll be almost like a stranger there. it's a really weird feeling. i probably won't play animal crossing again until a new one comes out.
