@beardalaxy they are already bitching and moaning because Ciri isn't "hot" enough (she literally looks the same, even the dumbass makeup is present)
@tomie that being said though, it's not ciri's face, or the lack of geralt, or the graphics that worries me. it's going to be the writing and the gameplay. writing because i'm not sure how retarded cd projekt red has become in that regard over the past 5 years and how much actual integrity in that field they have left. gameplay because i'm hoping it is clear and refined, and serves the story and environments well, instead of being this massive open world with meaningless quests because they put the focus somewhere else. that's ALWAYS a worry of mine with open world games, and cp2077 had a lot of issues in that regard for me. go into a new area and all the sudden you have random ass people calling you that you've never met filling up your quest log with stupid shit.
@tomie the one photo that matrix posted looked pretty bad but watching the trailer she looks fine tbh. maybe a little bit weird looking, but most of what i take issue with is just the "realistic rendering" making things look bad. unironically, i think a game looking more like a game and less like real life draws me in so much more. i love the way final fantasy games have always done their graphics because it's this sort of hyper-realistic, anime-esque style. i think it works out way better. older games that were really pushing for realism are able to strike that kind of balance, almost by accident, because they couldn't quite hit that target yet. now that we are getting closer and closer it is just looking strange. not to mention the actual techniques for rendering like all the temporal shit and the weird artifacts coming from it all.
i posted a video earlier about a dude complaining that geralt wasn't going to be the protag and he couldn't even pronounce his name right. lots of tourists and grifters out and about.
