@Wormwood irs agents following twitter users making jokes about tax evasion to learn their daily habits moment

@graf @Wormwood I've had soul crushing jobs before, I technically work for the government now (contractor) but at least my department generally leaves you alone unless you actively fuck something up.

@graf @Wormwood some adventures in the forest service in (state withheld)

- two garbage bins went missing, they were found several thousand miles away by the Canadians, this happened on a week without any wind or serious weather
- a staircase appeared along the Canadian border, the Canadians had no explanation for this whatsoever nor had any recollection of where it came from
- a landslide happened but then the damage was mysteriously not present the next weekday
- a government inspector arrives during a rainstorm, doesn't want to look around because "it's rainy"
- Americans have wandered into Canada and Canadians have wandered into America. Both governments are aware of this and the reaction is essentially :meru_shrug: "oh well"

@wolfbro @wolfbro @Wormwood the last point i can see, there's so much of the US/CA border that is unmanned people just walk across. they used to do it in Quebec a lot because there's even a paved path with signage saying you're crossing but I think they fenced it off or put guards there now or something but yeah there's probably hundreds or thousands of KM that is unmanned and just cross at will
Follow

@graf it's made better by the fact that neither side really makes a big deal out of it. It's just "whoops!" (turns around)
