@borzoi @xianc78 @coldacid @crisp why Libertarians think that Companies can do no wrong tho?
Follow

@Gerfand @coldacid @borzoi @crisp We don't believe that. It's when they use the government to stomp out competition through things like "intellectual property", bail-outs, tax-payer subsidies, etc, they prevent the free-market from correcting itself.

@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp but why do you ignore all the times that despite gov doing nothing, the companies use the free market to just exploit you?

@Gerfand @coldacid @borzoi @crisp Research how regulated the industry said company is in first. There is always some artificial barrier preventing people from entering the market.

@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp I gonna ask again, how can a company that has no gov oversight over it do nothing wrong?
Because you either misunderstanding what I'm saying, or ignoring it.

@Gerfand @coldacid @borzoi @crisp There will always be competition. In a true free-market people can literally copy what the other company is doing.

@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp you clearly just ignoring what I'm saying, I'm not talking about competition, but the ability of a company of doing something that is imoral (tho aparently for you morality is just "does company have 100% of the marketshare").
@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp ah yes, the "NAP" meme, wanna get into the "Roads" meme next?

@Gerfand @xianc78

Welcome to Not An Argument land, where you call something a meme and leave it at that.

@Senpai-kun @xianc78 lol, was just waitng to someone say that while ignoring my argument...

@Gerfand @xianc78

Corporate oligopolies backed by protectionist rackets are not supported by libertarian principles. I realize that Styx says retarded things to the contrary but he’s not the arbiter of what qualifies as a libertarian principle.

@Senpai-kun @xianc78 I don't care what one or other says, I gonna repeat myself, is a private company UNABLE to do anything bad under any circustances, specially when theres no Gov interference?

@Gerfand

Someone has given you a very incorrect view of private enterprise if they told you that private companies are incapable of committing acts like theft or fraud. Anything a man can do, a company can do, including break laws and be punished for criminal behavior.

@Senpai-kun I literally asked this to the guy above, three times, he evaded the question every time.

@Gerfand

He’s an ancap, I’m a racist libertarian. Anarcho anything is unworkable.

@Senpai-kun okay, but then ask him what I did to know if he considers that a possibility

@Gerfand

I can just give you the argument against anarchism. Without any system of law enforcement, any policy prescription is just a suggestion, which means that anything following the anarcho- part of an ideology is pointless to discuss.

If you’re dealing with an anarchist, the anarchism is the first thing that needs to go.

@Senpai-kun I know, I have the arguments, I'm just asking the part of the private company to see if he can really say that or not.

@Gerfand @Senpai-kun Of course not. We never say that. If they aggress against you, that violates the NAP. If it's something else, there will always be competition. It's also not as if customers can't leave bad reviews.

@xianc78 @Senpai-kun Twitter banning you bc they want doesn't violates the NAP, but still wrong, do you know why?
No they are not breaking the contract when doing that because the contract says "we can break the contract"

@Gerfand

Twitter faces no competition because competitors get deplatformed by banks when they host political content that offends the Jews. This is anti-competitive behavior which already violates laws on our books, but it doesn’t matter because our entire system of law enforcement is compromised.

Free market principles require the presence of free and fair competition to act as a control mechanism for those on the upper end of individual power relationships, like an employer’s boss or a first-mover-advantage business in an industry. Subverting or destroying the competitiveness of a market, whatever the means, is anti-free market and anti-libertarian.

Just like every society needs well-enforced laws prohibiting simple crimes like theft and assault, there is no reason for a libertarian society to allow private players to rig the markets in their favor.

@Senpai-kun @Gerfand >Twitter faces no competition

Sure it does. You're on Twitter's competition. The fediverse is the future.
@NEETzsche @Senpai-kun he is not wrong there tho.
Twitter competition is a fringe site, its like saying a local supermarket is competition to Amazon or Wallmart

@Gerfand @xianc78

You’re just kicking the can down the road with that question, even a lolbert could just come back with “how can a government with no oversight do nothing wrong”

@xianc78 @Gerfand @coldacid @borzoi @crisp he knows, it's just that he is fundamentally a leftist so he naturally lies
@xianc78 @Gerfand @coldacid
I always disagreed with libertarians on intellectual property, even when I was one myself.

Not having a unified position on abortion was a big weakness too.
@Type_Other @xianc78 @coldacid Intelectual Property part depends on what you mean, and how you do.
TBH, Libertarians have it wrong from the times I spent talking w/ them.
@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand And then businessmen get together and lobby for copyright. What now

@sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand That's why I'm an ancap and not a minarchist. There will be no government to lobby to.

@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand And then people who share common goals will come together and .. ?

@sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand Instantly be defeated by people defending their properties.

If you really think my ideology is bullshit, I will like you to know that Ireland was essentially ancap for a millennium (650 - 1650).

@sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand It proves that my system is more stable than what these NigSocs want. Hell, it seems to be more stable than what we have now given that the US is about to collapse at any moment and it isn't even close to being 1000 years old.

@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand The irony of you hating Nazi Germany is that the reason Ireland was able to stay the way it was is that it was just Irish people for all that time ( until it wasn't and .. surprise )
@sickburnbro @xianc78 @Gerfand @borzoi @coldacid @crisp what makes you think that natsoc Germany would not be as bad as the modern US, given that in 40s germans though that the US is too racist but it slowly changed because big gov does what big gov does
@incel_lolbert @Gerfand @borzoi @coldacid @crisp @xianc78 I hate to tell you, you aren't going to get away from big government, unless it manages to suicide itself, globally.
@incel_lolbert @Gerfand @borzoi @coldacid @crisp @xianc78 No, that's literally the cope that conservatives have been failing at for 50 years.
@incel_lolbert @Gerfand @borzoi @coldacid @crisp @xianc78 In a more general term, look at "On Power" by de Jouvenel. He basically catalogues the growth of government over 1000 years. I'll spoil it though: it doesn't look good.
@xianc78 @sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp you just claimed that Ireland was Ancap tho, but said it was, its a really mostly occupied by Normans/English and the areas that were actually Irish, were Feudal, like every other European nation
@xianc78 @sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand

"Ireland was libertarian. That kike Murray Rothbard told me and his evidence was anti-Irish propaganda claiming the Irish were 'lawless,' meant disparagingly."

Go drink more jew cum faggot
@xianc78 @sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand in which way was medieval Ireland ancap, and how is it consistent with modern ancap principles?

@spooky1589 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand @sickburnbro Courts and law were privatized and operated in a stateless manner and association was entirely voluntary. It was pretty complex for a stateless society.

ozarkia.net/bill/anarchism/faq

@xianc78 @spooky1589 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @sickburnbro I find funny how you totally not biased source leaves the actual Ancap society, and the close to Ancap ones that were not divided in multiple petty kingdoms that were not conquered by luck, like Ireland was.
@xianc78 @borzoi @coldacid @crisp @sickburnbro @spooky1589 And funny that the Irish one is the only one where guy doesn't provide any source...
@Gerfand @borzoi @coldacid @crisp @sickburnbro @spooky1589 @xianc78 Spoiler warning: He's wrong.

Or maybe he isn't, he never defined ancapism so maybe its just that in entails a stratified feudal system with unusual succession laws, who knows?
@WaitingForMajorian @borzoi @coldacid @crisp @sickburnbro @spooky1589 @xianc78 tbh, Celtics society are know for being "libertarian" in the tax sense, but its only that, like they were not a bunch of Ancaps, they still have kingdom, gov, and other stuff, for the Romans that is Anarchy.

So we that use the Roman view of the world, consider that anarchy, but if you look more in depth, you see that they were far away from Ancap, its more like a different society that maybe had no or less taxes, but still, there was a nobility, freeman, serfs or slaves, etc

Well the fact there was people considered "Freemen" shows that it was in constract to those who were not free
@xianc78 @sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp Theres another thing, you forget, and ironically is showed by your Ireland argument + looking into history

How would you organize a military force, if you entire idea is to NOT have a "government" aka a body of people that rule over other people, and organize what they do to the extent they find necessary and/or possible?

@Gerfand @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @sickburnbro Private security would also act as mercenaries during a time of invasion.

@xianc78 @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @sickburnbro Mercenaries are innefective in modern, high scale warfare...
@xianc78 @sickburnbro @coldacid @borzoi @crisp @Gerfand
I mean Ireland was governed by the Celtic clan system rather than what you'd normally think of as a national government.
If that's what you're into I'd be down.
But then essentially every barbarian tribe that ever existed is also 'an-cap'
