The problem with MAGA is you can't make something great again when it's dead.

@judgedread Imagine thinking that "elected" politicians can fix anything. They're all puppets.

@xianc78 The US is dead. Even a non-puppet can't repair it. A Caesar will have to create something new.
@judgedread @xianc78

And that need somehow becomes implosive when imagination becomes the inhibitor rather than technology, in a world where Caesar would have to either war mongering or getting creative to entertain the couch potatoes of idiocracy.

Get perfect shit judge.
@judgedread @xianc78

Plagues, armageddon and total annihilation or you?
@volume You don't speak proper English, your argument is invalid.

I suspect this may be a bot.
@judgedread
It's incredibly rare you don't get an autocracy. When the states start to ignore federal law, let's hope it's slow and careful, yet firm. States will look different. Expect new natural borders.
@xianc78
@djsumdog Path of least resistance is states retain existing borders. At least for phase one. If no central state replaces the US the states might divide into smaller units, particularly the oversized ones like California.

@djsumdog @judgedread Texas is probably the only one that can get away with it since they can drill their own oil.

@xianc78 @judgedread They are also the only state that provides more money and resources to the federal government than they pull in. The other big factor is that any new division need to include a bill of rights similar to the US constitution as a central bedrock, most importantly, the freedom of speech, firearm arms, due process and rights against illegal search and seizure. No one really cares about quartering troops.

This doesn't guarantee a free state (fucking China has freedom of speech in their constitution), but anything less can and will eventually lead to authoritarianism (and be sure, there will be many divisions that will explicitly ban misinformation).
