@xianc78 @ryo @helby like the video u showed me before xianc, there are reasons why the post-right rejects the concept of natural law as well. Unfortunately, to paraphrase Carl Saga- humans have not been given the lead role in the cosmic drama.
Humanism is the cornerstone of modernity- although it's religious form has existed before that in ancient china. It is the belief that humans are responsible for the promotion of meaning, progress and freedom, using scientific postivism to get them there.
This where i go: hang on! where exactly does this notion of "progress" and "freedom" actually come from?
What has postivism actually given us? the Manhattan project and agent orange.
I dont think any of us rlly trust the humanists in UN- human rights for me but not for thee... and if ur human rights do get violated, we're not gonna do anything about it. it's like, the more we try to essentialise humanity and nature, the more oppressive it becomes. and the liberal humanist tenets like "free speech" and "free press" is nothing more than an empty figure of speech- it aint free unless you, yourself, are actually doing it.
That theory is interesting. I just like their principals. History is distorted too much to take a stance
