@ryo @dave @BanditHeeler Yeah I'm not sure but Alex Jones has been getting railroaded by the legal system and big tech alliance for the last few years over (among other things) the Sandy Hook thing because he was questioning if the whole thing was real or fake and gay. If anything, they just found a opportunity to take him out for good to send a message to the other rising alt-media sources that are less dramatic (The Gateway Pundit and OANN are the big targets as of late, with the former facing a similar lawsuit from an election fraudster caught in the act). They're using the fact that boomers and the like harassed the Sandy Hook families (you know, the "you're responsible for things someone else did" mindset) instead of their lawyers or the police departments dragging their feet to release evidence that honestly would have done a stronger job at silencing everyone to take him out for a reason: he's a threat to the media. That's also because optics wise Sandy Hook was a flash in the pan for the mainstream media: they can just accuse him of harassing these poor parents of a school shooting victim and everyone will parrot the line.
Let's look at the circumstances around Sandy Hook; a LOCAL NEWSPAPER had to FOIA all the details of the shooting which didn't come out until years later because the police department was sitting on them (they're more worried about Columbine copycats than the public not believing it's real), and if anything what came out was less about the gun he used and more about the fact he was deeply fucked in the head, with a mom who was definitely not qualified to handle her pet retard from letting him use guns to just taking a passive hands-off approach to parenting. Considering how YouTube also nuked his channel when true crime autists found his channel years later mixed in with the media pushing hard for gun bans, is it any wonder people would ask questions?
What did the USA media and town do when the shooting happened? They went so far in on the "ban guns" thing that the rest is history. There was a huge pushback against this and a giant buying run on AR-15s/big mags (because boomers were banking on another grandfather style law). The city tore down the Lanza household (not uncommon with murders or heinous crimes to avoid hard to sell homes or a repeat of the Tate House saga) and the school (likely to avoid murder tourists and future shooters going there as a pilgrimage, while not knowing why true crime fangirls and future shooters go to Columbine instead of say Sandy Hook). News stories that went to the level of bragging about destroying all of the belongings (that presumably the other Lanza family members didn't come and collect) left in the house to stop true crime fans from dumpster diving murderbilia absolutely didn't help their case whatsoever.
When the facts came out years later, they didn't get a fraction of the same amount of coverage that the Sandy Hook parent lawyers and their quest to fuck over gun owners and dissidents have. The fears of teenage fangirls fawning over Adam Lanza also haven't shown up, because unlike the notorious shooters Adam was a pedophile, didn't have writings anyone could relate to, or even put on the "teenage rebel" image that Eric and Dylan as an example did.
So when you consider in 2012/3 that there was little to no info on the shooter itself other than the infamous photo, a massive push to ban guns (that would fail harder today with how ARs became mainstream in the USA, many states just have mag limits and fixed mags instead), and the parents getting weaponized as all fuck by greedy/politically motivated lawyers, it's not unreasonable to believe that anyone would ask questions to the point of falling down rabbit holes. The fact that many people to this day still argue if Sandy Hook was real or not should tell you why Alex would even suggest such a thing.
So despite what the case looks like, it's not actually about Alex saying Sandy Hook was fake. It's like government bills with misleading names like the stop inflation act. It's really about using the court to send a message like they did with the CVille protesters: alternative media isn't safe from a costly lawsuit. It's the same motive behind the Dominion Voting Systems billion dollar lawsuits and their website instantly going right into the damage control, or
Jim Hoft's website being sued for showing a video of someone committing election fraud. It's also a great way to permanently ruin the reputation of Alex Jones so brainwashed libs and Google can "gotcha" people with his court case (which isn't the only one, he got fucked in a marriage court too). He's not even their only target, as the Tucker Carlson hit pieces on him and his former writer proved and I know they have him under a microscope, waiting to ruin his career too when they're not deboonking everything he says.
I think you're seeing a pattern here: they did it for something other than attention or being on the tv. Even the people obsessed with the Columbine shootings get obsessed with it because of the idea of a bullied kid fighting back (of which the idea of Columbine being a reaction to bullying or the shooters being bullies themselves is argued back and forth in that community more than if sandy hook is real or not). At least one of the manifestos (I think tarrants) name-dropped Brevik and claimed he supported it from a prison letter, and someone else who had their plan foiled was writing letters to Dylan Roof.

Of course in this case, both glowies caught them and they were involved with the "true crime" communities. Namely, someone involved in that sphere on Tumblr got concerned I'm pretty sure because the FBI said a concerned citizen tipped them. I have no idea if writing the letters got them on a watchlist but finding the letters didn't help their case one bit.
