Well, not exactly. You need cops to maintain a society. Without it, you are "free on a desert island", as progressives love to point out.
@LukeAlmighty Private security was the norm throughout most of the history of civilization. The Epstein case would probably be a rare and extreme case. I think ideally, there should be an armed security guard at every store.

That is kinda the oposite though. Police should be in theory at least somewhat impartial. Private security turns the entire society into "might makes right".
Would you want Epstein to have even more power over his land? And a private army to guard his Island?
