It looks like Codeberg just banned all cryptocurrency related projects, but it was to be expected, given the CEOs relation with Drew DeVault and them taking more far-left stances as of late.
I guess there is simply no viable alternative to GitHub unless you self-host. Maybe the Git-over-Nostr solutions would take off, but I am sick and tired of people bringing unrelated politics into the FOSS movement.
I don't see why Codeberg must host every FOSS ever in existence, @xianc78, it has every right to ban any topic, and the more self-hosting the more healthy the movement.
@cnx I agree and respect their right to do so, but there aren't that many alternatives right now. That's my only gripe.
FWIW @xianc78, Fossil hosting is still as easy and cheap as ever, I do it from home but I've seen people doing it on ¢25/mo VPS as well.
