@matrix Congrats. What did you change? 🙂

@matrix @xyfdi Mastodon is complicated to install on bare-metal, so I just used Cloudron for my instance. May switch to Pleroma in the future, due to its simpler installation and the features it has over Mastodon; it's also much lighter on your system than Mastodon.

@inference @matrix I have briefly installed and maintained both a Mastodon and a Pleroma instance and both have their pros and cons. As far as software goes I found both horrible to upgrade. Both can use some love in this department iyam.

@xyfdi @matrix Personally, Pleroma seems better due to less system resource usage, and easier customisation.

@inference @matrix Pleroma is really nice when it comes to resources yeah. No complaints about that! It being coded in Elixer also helps with this. Its insanely stable and fast! =)

@xyfdi @matrix I'm someone who prefers function over form. I care not about animations, effects, gloss etc. I like low code, secure, easy to maintain software. I'd rather have CLI packages over GUI packages at any time. Pleroma seems to be a minimalistic, low code alternative to Mastodon, which focuses on function over form. Mastodon is definitely more on the form side than Pleroma.
