True cyberpunk is upper class transtrenders and genderfluids being able to swap their gender identity on a whim and present as whatever they want while whining about how oppressed they are because this year's new model of synthskin 20" horsecock is slightly less sensitive than last year's model, while the actual transgenders are struggling to whore themselves out for enough money to buy a "gently used" 8 year old budget robopussy that only has a mere 12% chance of frying their entire spinal cord and rendering them permanently paralyzed from the waist down

@Galena I know, I was being cheeky. A big budget game like 2077 wouldn't dare explore social issues in ways that might actually offend people.
@dave Can't risk displaying any issues in a serious light, after all. Just pay them lip service while fellating the people in power and pretending they're the true bottom rungs of society, just like everything else does.
Reality is the true cyberpunk. The cyberpunk "dystopias" were an idealistic fantasy.
New cyberpunk doesn't make sense because cyberpunk was written in the 80s to warn us of what kind of future might be. The future has come to pass. The prediction was wrong.
You can still write speculative stories about the near future, but they wouldn't look like cyberpunk. Thats what made old cyberpunk so good - it was somewhat plausible
