Omg I’m at Wendy’s and there is a hardcore vegan lol of course she is ahead of me and listing off all the things she doesn’t eat.

Bitch it’s fast food. It’s not your kitchen at home or a fancy restaurant where you can be picky. It’s a fucking Wendy’s, it’s barely food, let along vegan food.

@shebang Isn't Wendy's entire gimmick pretending to have better meat than all the other fast food places? And tonnes of bacon on everything? Seems weird to go to a fast food joint all about meat then complain you don't eat meat.
Vegans should avoid fast food places in general - there's rarely any guarantee their non-meat products are actually vegan, due to potential cross contamination from things being cooked on the same grills. I think that's why they use terms like "plant based" or "veggie burger", instead of "vegetarian" or "vegan".

Actually, that gives me an idea. I wonder how successful a fast food place specializing in vegetarian and/or vegan food would be. It's a niche market, but it's not like non-vegans can't eat vegan meals.

@Galena vegans shouldn’t be fed though, they defy God’s will that we have dominion over the earth and all its tasty animals.

@shebang Man is his own God, and Man can deny himself his own biological needs and evolutionary design to eat whatever he wants and survive

@shebang @Galena There are a few places with veggie burgers, most notably Burger King. But yeah, fast food isn't really the best vegan-friendly type of food. That's like going to Outback and being mad the food there ain't vegan either.

@Galena

Some do for ethical reasons. They don't tend to agree with how those places treat their supply chains. They may find themselves there if they're with people looking to eat while catering for the vegan (maybe).

>there's rarely any guarantee their non-meat products are actually vegan, due to potential cross contamination from things being cooked on the same grills
I'm going with PETA's view on this; cross-contamination fears when you don't have allergies doesn't save any more animals than just choosing plant-based options. For me I don't worry about contaminations, they're traces compared to actually buying them whole.

I should also clean up the confusuon of 'plant-based' and 'vegan'. The former is a dietary choice, the latter is an ethical choice. You can't eat morals!

As for that last point there's a cafe/eatery that I know of that will be moving to a larger store. At least for them it seems to be working!

@shebang
@thatbrickster @Galena @shebang Yeah. Even if omnivores can eat vegan food, there is no guarantee that they'll even want to or agree to go to a vegan place. It's not the familiar comfort food people are used to going out to buy when they eat out. Also, there are places where only fast food is on offer and the others want that. What can you do but go along and hope there is something on offer for you or go hungry? Although, one time, I did just buy a vegan meal deal from a supermarket and left the others to eat at a fast food place. Another time, I took stuff with me. But that requires being able to plan in advance. Going hungry is really not fun though.
