@mewmew @icedquinn @purple @wolfie That’s just you moving the goalposts on your definition of government. People pooling resources doesn’t magically make a government, a tax apparatus, authoritarianism, etc just appear.

A business isn’t a government. A community isn’t a government. People agreeing to follow a particular set of rules or guidelines isn’t a government. You can’t just stretch the definition of government to mean any two people with similar interests or problems is a government. The people in my apartment building all have a vested interest in it not burning down and that doesn’t make us a government.

A government, means authority. That’s the crux of the problem with government, it claims authority over people and in the absence of that power its merely a collection of people who might want to keep their houses from burning down. Not remotely the same thing.

@mewmew @wolfie @icedquinn @purple Honestly, this entire discussion is hammering home my opinion that all government is a doomed, nonsense proposal that only serves the purposes of select elites and the rest are just tax stock.
