"What's baffling is that black people in the U.S. aren't bothered by the shallow diversity and representation Hollywood introduces in their projects. Disney is apparently making a live-action of The Little Mermaid and Ariel will be played by a black actress. I don't care about the issues that most people are bringing to the race-bent (as in, The Little Mermaid being a Danish fairy tale and thus, the actress being black doesn't "fit". It's just a fairy tale, after all, and it doesn't hurt the original imo) but the fact that black people in the U.S. don't feel like they're being taken for fools for this weak representation is weird. A movie about a princess or warrior from African folklore would be a much better diversity and representation in Hollywood instead of having an originally white character have her race changed just so execs can pat themselves in the back for their hard work at including "diversity". It feels cheap and quite rude from Disney for doing that, but oh well."

@dave This is one of the greatest attack on white culture we have ever faced, perhaps comparable only to the suggestion that food can use seasonings other than salt and pepper. We, as a race, need to unite and fight back against this oppression and injustice.
