The state of America where you guys have to compete which braindead rapist will rule over you hahahahahaha
@mewmew @kino a trump vs biden debate wouldn't pass a turing test
If the left's standard "guilt-by-association" tactics were consistently applied to themselves with respect to communism every last one of them would be a commie apologist for war crimes. Obama broke bread with Marxist terrorists. Card-carrying commies infect academia. Remember this whenever they pull any of their bullshit.
@augustus Yeah this is how I think American propaganda works. Make your angry citizens feel like freedom fighters by "fighting the system" in a fake pointless battle.
thingken bout the matrix:
i think the pills are reversed. the more likely way to enslave someone in a false reality is to make them believe they are a hero overcoming the odds, the saviour of humanity, the "one", as toiling in this reality and engaging in a phony fight against the machines would end up being the thing that keeps you enslaved by them (leftists raging against the machine whilst Harvard gives them honorary degrees). the actual real "red pill" reality is the Mr Anderson software programmer one we see at the start of the film, the boring drab life he leads, this is the more likely reality because it something you don't want to be in. it's unappealing. if you wanted to enslave someone in the matrix you would give them an attractive illusion, not one they want to escape from.

Something I should note, this was in a section discussing how sexual deviations and fetishes aren't wrong and shouldn't be condemned or seen as "unnatural", and that individuals should embrace and accept their deviations. While "deviation" may often be intended in an insulting or offensive manner, in this context it is being used to explain why asexuality is being listed among the other sexualities, and why it too should be accepted.

I also don't necessarily agree with the second paragraph, about being sexually sublimated by their jobs. Regardless, even in modern times, this acceptance of asexuality would be seen as rather progressive. Over half a century ago, when this was written, something like this was practically unheard of.

In Vice's "Surveillance Pandemic," Edward Snowden, Naomi Klein , Jacinta González and Edward Ongweso Jr discuss the use of surveillance technology to neutralize the Black Lives Matter uprising.

One of the more compelling moments in the discussion came when Snowden talked about the complicity tech workers have in the use of their creations to surveil human rights activists in order to perpetuate systemic racism and violence.

"Even the asexual has a deviation - his asexuality. It is far more abnormal to have a lack of sexual desire (unless illness or old-age, or another valid reason has caused the wane) than it is to be sexually promiscuous. However, if a Satanist chooses sexual sublimation over overt sexual expression, that is entirely his own affair. In many cases of sexual sublimation (or asexuality), any attempt to emancipate himself sexually would prove devastating to the asexual.
Asexuals are invariably sexually sublimated by their jobs or hobbies. All the energy and driving interest which would normally be devoted to sexual activity is channeled into other pastimes or into their chosen occupation. If a person favors other interests over sexual activity, it is his right, and no one is justified in condemning him for it. However, the person should at least recognize the fact that this is a sexual sublimation."
(Anton LaVey, The Satanic Bible, 1969)

I consider it very interesting that Satanism has officially considered asexuality to be a valid identity, and condoned and accepted it, going all the way back to its foundation in the 1960's. Acceptance of asexuality among the LGBT community is very recent, only a decade or two ago you'd find countless people denying that it even existed. Even today, many in the LGBT community exclude asexuals, or don't accept the validity of asexuality. And yet Satanism - a highly sexual religion - has accepted asexuality from its foundation in the 60's. Sexual freedom is an incredibly important part of Satanism, but sexual freedom doesn't necessarily mean promiscuity. Many who claim to promote concepts of "sexual freedom" and empowerment have very narrow definitions of what that "freedom" includes. Someone who wishes to devote themselves to a single person and remain monogamous should be free to do so, if they are truly sexually free. Someone who doesn't want to have sex at all should be free to do so, if they are truly sexually free. Someone who wishes to be in a committed relationship with two or more people at once should be free to do so. Someone who doesn't want to be in a relationship at all, and just wants to have sex with no strings attached should be free to do so. Someone who doesn't wish to have sex with someone should be free to refuse consent, for any reason whatsoever, or even for no reason at all. For true sexual freedom, all of these things must be accepted and seen as valid.

@rasterman @ChristiJunior Religions of the book are bound to whatever nonsense the book contains, especially when they are locked as the Koran and Bible are. (no more prophets, no new chapters allowed!)

You can't stretch Christ into a warrior god if people are allowed to read the Bible. Nor can you limit its scope to your own countrymen.

So here we are.

Now that the voice actor of Cleveland from Family Guy is stepping down, I fully expect the voice actor of Herbert to step down and be replaced by Joe Biden

While it may sound overly dramatic, I think people would be well served to remember that no matter how small or how innocent a law or program may seem, sitting right behind it is death.

The power of the State is death. Sure, there are usually steps before that and all sorts of things come into play before it, but at its root, it’s death. This is easy to prove. Fail to pay your taxes. What happens? Someone shows up eventually to ask why so? Then they’ll ask you to do so. Then they’ll order you (via the courts). If you still refuse to comply, men with guns will show up and either attempt to force you or arrest you. Refuse that, they attempt to subdue you. Refuse that, they shoot you. Loop closed.

Oh, but taxes are serious business. Surely that isn’t the case for a little law like jaywalking?! Nope. 100% the same. More steps, takes longer to get there maybe, but the result is the same.

So when one says “We should create a program to do XYZ”, at the root of it one is speaking of forcing people at the point of a gun to do a thing. I’m not addressing the question of whether that thing is or isn’t a good thing. Just pointing out that all state power is force and that matters when one considers what is “compassion” when it comes from the state. To my way of thinking, compassion cannot come from force and can only come from choice. Thus, the state is only vaguely capable of such and only in those rare instances where everyone agrees to the action in question. Very rare instances. Otherwise, the state is forcing people (on one level or another) to comply and do as others want them to do.

Individuals can be compassionate. Private organizations can be compassionate. The state can only sorta approach it
