Imagine if a black child was raised with white people, with no mirrors, and then one day they saw their reflection and became confused, something about that resonates with me and I don't know why

@hideki They would notice the difference in shade, and that would make them feel different already, but seeing that their own face wasn't like that of their surrogate parents would probably be a shock still

@Jazzy_Butts @hideki This doesn't make sense in my mind, like, it's probably an interesting moment for people when they see themselves for the first time. But why would the person feel bad about being different if they're appreciated either way, that feeling probably doesn't even crosses their mind if they're in a healthy family.
