Hey guys I'm watching Star Trek Enterprise for the first time and I'm enjoying it, I hated it every time I saw it was on growing up, too immature I guess. But I'm seeing thematic connections between it and nutrek, which might be a segway into me giving nutrek a chance.

@Jazzy_Butts
I honestly think Enterprise is the best show, because it isn't afraid of not answering morally gray topics.

DS9 did the opposite most of the time, didn't it? I liked that, too

@Corfiot @Jazzy_Butts
I saw DS9 once, but I don't remember it going full gray too often. Especially to this degree.

@LukeAlmighty @corfiot @Jazzy_Butts they flirt with it somewhat in DS9. one of the main characters is a straight up terrorist but they couch it with "oh but see it was freedom fighting"
Yeah, and on top of that *consistently* a "the ends justify the means" terrorist throughout the entire series, even when being confronted with this because they made this decision once, for good, back when it mattered. Actually having it a part of their persona, making a point about some decisions being final and there being no going back. Not a likable character nowadays

@Corfiot @icedquinn @Jazzy_Butts
Yes, that was in fact there. I admit, that the ends justifying the means was a constant topic.

But, it was the only one. Ferrengi were the exact oposite, showing, that all non-federation cultures are wrong by default.

On the other hand, the Enterprise has best 3rd gender and value of conservative thought episode (topical), An episode on the total war (topical), Obvious episode on stealing for the greater good....

And I just feel, like they did handle the topics much more grown up in Enterprise.

Yeah, DS9 was a bit romantic most of the time, even when tackling difficult issues. I should point out the changelings thing, where a totally alien race/philosophy produced an exception in Odo but in the end they chickened out a bit in the way you say: humans are the best, others are all problematic.

The Garak episodes were top DS9, the Cardassians had more relatable politics and situations than any other non-human race in Trek IMHO

@Corfiot @icedquinn @Jazzy_Butts
Btw, I get the hate.
1) It takes a place in a paralel timeline (and most are too dumb to understand that)
2) This face still triggers me in the same way, as most people react to JarJar Binks.
