They keep technology constantly changing so that no one generation can become accustomed to it, notice that people only keep up with shit to a certain point and then they start saying "I don't use that shit" (usually around their 30s). This is intentional, it is to make it so that no old people accumulate too much power (knowledge is power), all they do is change shit around after a while every generation so the olds lose their way and become confused.
