When I was a child I lived under constant threats of physical violence, the threats were never delivered on but it was just a way of life to be told that you would be harmed for the pettiest of reasons by those who were supposed to be protecting and teaching you.
@pensador in the second suicide squad movie (Titled: "The Suicide Squad") we're introduced to the character Weasel and are told that he murdered 27 children. Weasel is incapable of speech or writing. Obviously this makes Weasel a despicable character who is most hated. Now it's revealed in this animated series that's a continuation of the film weasel never did in fact murder any of those children, it was bigots who were trying to murder weasel that murdered the children, weasel was only playing with the children and the children loved weasel and so the haters chased weasel through the school and it caught on fire and it was all their fault that the children died and weasel was trying to save them and they blamed weasel and said he was a murderer but he never was he was just a good child lover and those antis with their buttholes in a bunch ended up being the ones hurting those children the bastard antis with their paranoid schizophrenic bullshit, they're always jumpin to conclusions! It was some loser janitor bum asshole drunk who saw the children playing with Weasel (who appears to be a fully grown weasel furry man) and they were just having fun and he thinks that Weasel's some kind of child hurter, well the old bastard ends up being the one getting all the children hurt the dumb old fuck. So Weasel is redeemed, as not a child murderer but a child lover who got child murder pinned on him by bastards who were bigots and couldn't stand a fully grown weasel man playing with children.

For a country that prides itself on independence, the United States sure does treat their "minors" (<18 or <21, in some cases) like chattel.
On the other side of this fascist nightmare, we need some proper codified rights. Laws to protect young people from terrible people who happen to have made themselves parents.
