I have a theory that Japans lax attitude about loli sex and even rape (I am not an idiot I know rape is still taboo in japan, and that Japanese society at large is very reserved and "proper") is due in most to what happened during WW2, the mass rapes. Soldiers who participated in the mass rapes of captured asian and western women (mostly Dutch but some English and others as well) have been recorded recently smiling and laughing about the events, one even said that from the mass, endless rape, a line of men, the girls would "foam at the mouth" and some would die. No punishment is visited upon these men socially or legally, they are venerated as heros, even when they openly say shit like this. Japan seems to me a society of hypocrites, or perhaps a more polite way to put it would be to call Japan a "dualistic society", a society that strives for proper behavior, yet pays no mind to what actually is or is not "proper". In WW2 it was "proper" for a Japanese soldier to rape as many captive women and children as he could, it would be seen as "improper" for him to deny or refuse such an opportunity, he would be shamed by others if it was known. This shows the hypocrisy of Japan, and how it is no different from any other nation, and I believe, it shows how it's old attitudes persist to this day in the form of accepted (though publicly shunned or at the very least ignored) media. It shows also how "Americas" old attitudes of sexual purity have persisted too, we do not have an open market of loli art, we do not have loli art conventions, if we tried they would be disrupted. What else is deep in americas closet? The religious fervor is a given. And the sex cultism around virginity. But I think there is an american bloodlust which is perhaps unmatched among all the peoples. By american bloodlust I am referring to that of its English population, a people primed for civil war, primed to take on the king, they take all this energy and rage and redirect it into settlement, and any challenges to their authority they systematically destroy with violence. They won their land by conquest, they are conquerors like the Spaniards who took the south. But what differentiates the south from the north? Unity? If all the south American states had federalized, would they be a competing world superpower today?
I illustrated this little cutie for a wonderful client who was kind enough to want me to share her with you!
I was paid to draw this idea in stream last night. Although the commissioner was happy with it, I felt the turnout was pretty poor since I struggled to think up how to draw it while on the clock, so I felt the only appropriate thing to do was redo it, and since that doesn't technically count as a stream piece, might as well put it up.
Also, while Tails is the one who jumped her after all that teasing she pulled, she's not exactly trying to stop him...
