I'm watching this antichristian netflix documentary called The Family, I'm not really paying attention much but what I gather is that there's a cult of crazy people who are basically psychopaths using Christianity as a shield (already knew this)

The first tenant is nothingness because one can never be sure if what they're doing is good or not, and nothing is at the center of all things. I still think people shouldn't cause suffering but I don't know how to define that.

Why a trench? Several reasons.
God dwells in the deepest places, where none have gone.
All things fall, and sink, eventually to the lowest place, this is entropy.
No one has used a trench before as a symbolic religious metaphor, to my knowledge.
The symbol of The Church of The Trench should be a stylized trench, either something resembling a V or a U

I'm a lifelong pacifist, radical lefty, and vegan for more than 20 years, so I'm no ally of the gun rights lobby. But seriously people, ideologically-motivated mass shootings can't be stopped by twiddling the knobs on gun control regulation. For the same reason the Unabomber couldn't have been stopped by tighter regulations on living in the words. For the simple and obvious reason that the disturbed people who do these things don't give a flying fuck what the law says.
The first tenant is nothingness. Dwell on that for a while if you want.
The sun has set, it is now twilight. The Church of The Trench is now in session, until sunset tomorrow.
What does this mean?
It means this is a special time for church members.
What does that mean?
It means we are mindful, it's a way for us to regain lost strength.
Why do you need a church?
We don't, it's just for fun.
Do you believe in a god?
Church members are not expected to believe or disbelieve in any god(s).
But do YOU believe in a god?
No, though it is possible there is one or more.
How can you believe in divine revelation if you don't believe in a god?
The divine is not conscious, it is the truth above all, when I realize a truth this is what I call divine revelation.

Nothing, your choice to leave will not be challenged

You should be welcomed back
What is the point of this church?
To do good, in ways I don't believe extant churches can
