I think we may have fucked up certain aspects of the idea of "consent". We don't ask for consent because somehow giving someone pleasure they didn't ask for is bad; the problem is that if you attempt to give pleasure to someone that they aren't physically or mentally prepared for, you can end up hurting them or causing great emotional distress instead.
