Is the "talking animal" trope of 80s an unintentional reference to house slaves?

There's more to art than anatomy. There's framing, scenery, and perspective. And of course shading. But that's about it. All lines are gradients and fluctuate. So everything is shading. It's all just shading.

It's so much easier to be negative than to be positive, or at least it feels more...right. Being positive is hard, it feels wrong, like it's fake. Being negative feels right, even though it's dirty and cramped, like a old glove you've outgrown but gotten used to.
