Ever since joining pedi, I always felt like figuring out exactly who admins/moderates a space, especially outside of the instances you personally signed up for, is a bit difficult. I mostly learned via lurking long enough, and sometimes I'm still not even 100% sure who all has any higher powers. It's worse when you also know that the admins/mods have their cliques as well, and not knowing who sides with who can make going to any of them a challenge if one feels uncomfortable with a certain subsection of leadership.

I showed clear proof of no wrongdoing. All but some small loose ends to explain and close off.

And what does pedi do? It just tries to move on. Like nothing ever happened.

If you want allegations of abuse to be taken seriously, you NEED to punish those who very clearly falsified allegations of abuse. It cheapens the allegations of every person who genuinely suffers real abuse when you just let people get away with false reports.

@fleshy It’s why I push so hard for accountability and everything being done in public. So much abuse goes on behind closed doors, and then people assume it isn’t happening just because they don’t see it.

its not anti-youthlib to warn beings about red flags and its not anti-youthlib to remove known abusers from a community if you have the ability to. i complain about the same things i complain about done towards adults anyway as well, turns out abusers can abuse anyone
