@LukeAlmighty i could be wrong but I've heard it's from the making of the calendar and Julius and Augustus Caesar. They had wanted to name months after the two roman emperor's however they did not want them to be at the end of the year so instead placed them in the middle before September thus we have July and August, the remaining months follow the latin numeric words, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, etc. That's at least what I have heard.
