@LukeAlmighty That depends on "ruining the life" definition. If we talk about covid-fighting strategy (as i understand from the context), then it's fun having freedom and stuff, but that will end for everyone at the point when hospitals are full of patients again that may (or may not, hopefully) happen at end of the year. You always prepare for the worse option. But i seriously doubt there is need to force pandemic law this fast. Something smells fishy, i must admit that.

We both know Czech government can declare an emergency whenever things get bad. And honestly, I would be fine with that. That shit happens.

Nah... Pandemic law is a power grab, that they have to push through before people realize the Covid is over. I TRULY do not see any other logical explanation.

The problem is that not only this law is not polished at all, there are lot of issues and nobody seems like fixing them, propably because of time rush. Why the time rush? Who knows ... :/

Here comes the point, where I call bullshit.

You cannot say, that government grabs this unbelievable ammount of power in order to not have to use power.

Emergency has it's limit. And these limits have been tested several times in last 2 years. Babiš just wasn't able to keep it running forever.

That is why they want the new law. It does not limit their power, it gives them ALL the power, without any need to justify the use of it.

The pandemic law is not "badly written", you are just assuming morality where it does not exist.

In short, saying you need pandemic law so you won't have to use emergency is the same trick as saying, you're a Niggerian prince, and you need 100 000, so you can send billions back, once you unlock your bank account.

No disagreement there... 3 emergencies in 3 weeks, one of them even unconstitutional was a bit brutal for me...

But that's the point. They had to do a TON of shit to keep the powers for the short time they did. If this law passes, they will have the same abusive power forever. I cannot see ANY way that's supposed to be the lesser evil.

What issues? They want unlimited power, and this law is perfect for that goal.

@LukeAlmighty As i said, first idea behind pandemic law was to force government to give data and reasons for each individual steps they do so if they are not adequate to situation, they could be stopped by courts.

Also, if i remember correctly, it shall stop somehow overpriced purchasing by the government. But for now it seems it has similar issues as emergency state have.

One thing to remember though is, that pandemic law wasnt ment to be nicer emergency state to citizen, but tougher emergency state to government.

Not that only SMS sender could be anybody, but nobody would be able to tell when i actually read the SMS so i would know about the quarantine.
