And the Disney series was so bad that RedLetterMedia had to say, "wait, wait, this isn't my fault. I know I set the prequels on fire and made a whole movie about how Lucas is an asshole and specifically recommended JJ Abrams do what he did with Star Trek and make a soft reboot and everything went exactly as I wanted. I know couldn't bring myself to criticize the result with the same fervor because the COMPLETE TRASH WRITING had better direction and I have a film background not a writing background so all I can criticize is petty technical shit like [George Lucas consciously going for an older style of film that I didn't even recognize]. But even though this is the literally the future I fought for and asked for... I disavow."

So he's thinking in this fvideo that the director of this trilogy will be JJ Abrams, and the writer will be Kazdan. JJ Abrams might like lens flares but he does an OK job, and the writer's already responsible for a good movie.
But instead the series wasn't in either of their hands, JJ Abrams wasn't even supposed to direct more than one movie, JJ Abrams wrote the script for the first movie instead of never touching a script for anything ever under penalty of death. Star Wars was in Kathleen Kennedy's hands, and that'll be his defense: I didn't know about Kathleen Kennedy.
