The original last of us looks amazing.
When you need to release such a game to PC, you son't need to remake models FFS. Hi-res textures are enough.
@beardalaxy
Not to mention, that the devs most likely have the original hi-res textures saved somewhere from the earlier development stage, so there's no need to run an AI upscaler.
@LukeAlmighty so there's the ps3 version, then the ps4 version which actually is just a remaster, using higher res textures.
then there's the ps5/pc version, which has completely remade textures and models.
the ps4 version running on a ps4 pro or ps5 is probably the best experience you'll get until ps4 emulation works (so like 10+ years).
@beardalaxy I hate these remasters for one simple reason.
Crysis.
When they made a first Crysis remaster (for consoles), they removed an entire level, re-made lighting to a worse one etc... And after that, no further version reverted these changes.
This is especially laughable, since the new Crysis was SUPPOSED to be a graphical upgrade, but they build it upon a graphical downgrade, and the level, that was removed because "it was too demanding on graphics" is gone too. ON MODERN HARDWARE,
@LukeAlmighty they don't even have hi-res textures. maybe technically but everything looks way softer and has much left detail
if you wanna' play last of us on PC just emulate it. there's a hack to get 60fps in rpcs3.
i hope people mod in original models and stuff like that. man joel looks like he's fuckin 60 or some shit
