What even is the point of fediverse, if people keep defederating based on the riniest of disagreements anyway?
Well, I’d actually say the option to defederate is better than the option not to. The option to or not to federate with instances offers something in addition to free speech: free association.

About twice per year, I completelly clear my block list just so I can give a chance to anyone, who I might have blocked based on a "seriously bad day".
Because I am on a social media. And I hate to limit social interactions :D
I do something similar. I have cooldown periods where I just lift mutes/blocks from time to time, but I don’t clear it all at once.
