This is what happens when creators make something original. Remakes may suck in a lot of ways, but I’ll count my blessings.

Yeah, it might be my bias, since I seriously love the idea of a franchise.

The idea of lore building up on itself from one game to another just makes me appreciate each game much more.

Same and I would be glad to have cool sequels that did that, but we don’t see much of that at all recently. Xenoblade kinda sorta. Metal Gear Solid is the most recent I can think of that firmly does it.

Yeah. I remember the good times, when Star Trek and Star Wars used to do that... They both did it for decades, but nah, now, Star Trek just way too reboot happy. And you cannot build a 30+ years worth of worldbuilding out of nothing.

And new Star wars is shit.
