Yes, I know it will most likely be fixed in a week, and yes, I could have played it on gamepad...
But I didn't feel like giving a 2nd chance to a 70 euro game.
can anyone on linux confirms it works. i assume it should because it's proton but i want to be sure.

Most likely.
Czech keyboard uses "+,ě,š,č,ř,ž,ý,á,í,é" instead of "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9", so the issue is quite specific :D
