Well, there are people who would call modern 9-5 to be slavery, so I definitelly see, that the debate about hystorical slavery can be dificult.
But my point is, that forced servedom was literally everywhere. And it takes a special kind of education to make someone believe, that it was done only by white people.

I guess, it comes down to the question, if saying "I quit" was legally an option.
And I am not educated on the topic enough to say if that was the case in this particular example most of the time.
Serfs enjoyed very little freedom in a lot of aspects, but they were not bought and sold.
Also, you can tell from the clip, that he truly believed that shit, since his voice was cracking so hard.
He sounded as if he just started a fucking puberty.
