Why do you keep bringing religious marriage into discussion about people living together?
And why do you think people living together, and people making the ultimate commitment is comparable in any way?
@roboneko @Corfiot @SpurgAnon
Yes, I don't care about religious marriage for two reasons.
1) I am an atheist
2) it is nothing but a strawman that you can use to dismiss it immediately by dismissing the Bible.
So, if your argument against spreading marriage to everyone who happens to live together depends on a strawman, I will attack the strawman before I give you a chance to finish building it.

And I am not putting words to your mouth.
You said, I need to prove, why gay people don't suffer the same problems marriaged people do. And then, you said, that the same problems apply to cohabitation too.
So, what exactly is the scale you want to see marriage be applied to? Especially, since consent is not a requirement anymore thanks to the common law.
> Why do you keep bringing religious marriage into discussion about people living together?
I am referencing it to the extent that I feel it is relevant context but I don't think anything I've said depends on it
if you have an objection to something I've said perhaps address that head on instead of seeking procedural issues with the conversation (trying to label religious marriage as somehow off limits or dogmatically irrelevant)
> And why do you think people living together, and people making the ultimate commitment is comparable in any way?
here you go putting words in my mouth again. I don' think I specifically made that comparison. I pointed out various social ills that commonly arise when people live together. I pointed out that people frequently backstab after making a commitment. society presumably has an interest in not getting stuck with the bill from such things
you are the one apparently trying to steer the conversation towards these additional distinctions that don't seem to have anything to do with the points that I've made
