My shitty opinion
The Batman from mr Sparkle is actually the best place to restart DCEU, and these idiots are missing on that chance completely.
@LukeAlmighty I don't think DC needs some crazy universe like marvel does either. They shouldn't go chasing it because that was a lightning in a bottle situation and people are not ready to go through all of that again even if something really good came around. They should focus on getting some really good movies together for the time being that are completely separate concepts and see where it goes naturally. Them trying to chase marvel has been a major reason for their dwindling popularity and quality in Hollywood.
@beardalaxy
It was not a lightning in a bottle moment though. DC did the same thing already once. DCAU ran for 14 years, and did contain the best of the Superhero TV ever made.
I just want them to do it again... ![]()
@beardalaxy
Also, death of Marvel was a lightning in a bottle.
They decided to kill off their roaster, during switching to streaming model, right after their momentum-killing movie, while pissing off their audience with politics, during a pandemic.
Man, that is one hell of a crash.
@beardalaxy
Yes, it was a politcal movie, that I didn't like to begin with.
But, I love problem solving. And this movie was successful enough, as well as set in the EXACT ERA, where it needed to be, to actually start an extended universe project.
So, that was kinda my entire point.
Also, why did MR Sparkle had to get the coolest batsuit we had since Arkham knight is beyond me.
@LukeAlmighty it definitely is the best batsuit. It actually makes sense. He's got some good gadgets.
We all groaned in the theater when catwoman was like "let's go get those rich white men" or whatever. So bad.
@LukeAlmighty honestly I thought it was good enough. I still vastly prefer Adam West Batman instead of emo Batman, and the Riddler being an incel was pretty weird.
I still think the best characterization of all the DC stuff I've ever seen is Teen Titans (the cartoon network cartoon). It balanced goofy antics with drama really well.
