Simple as. Their ideology is so shit, and so dependent on the absolutely worst people in existence, that any actual alternative being available will naturally become an existential threat.

Even in a "market place of ideas" and open debate, the "best ideas" don't always win when it's advocates suck or the public is too brainwashed/biased. How ideas really survive is by getting power and using it.

It also doesn't help, that the is't such a thing as open marketspace of ideas, when block button is controlled by a 60Yo single mother at Facebook.
