So many windows Steam Deck clones... All of them using windows.

Kinda weird to think about, but the Linux is kinda bigger selling point to me, the more I think about it :D

@LukeAlmighty although I don't like Linux on my main gaming rig, I would too rather prefer SteamOS Linux on Steam Deck like device.
Windows on handhelds just doesn't seem right..

@SuperBobo
Yes, the slowdown caused by windows downloading candy crush randomly is just not acceptable on a handhald.

Also, there is an insane theme with the handhelds, that: They are making them bigger and heavier. Steam deck is ALMOST too heavy as it is.

Valve added the ability to limit FPS, to make your gaming less demanding. GREAT CHOICE. Clones? HI RES 144FPS displays..... WHY?

@LukeAlmighty the why is easy here imho. It can have bigger numbers and more fancy words on the store front, so more kid people tend to buy it.

@LukeAlmighty "look, almighty Valve has only n FPS, but we have more"

@SuperBobo
Yeah, this rant begun, because I saw Legion Go in shop. My first thought was: Amazing, they have deatachable controllers 🤩

And after that... The more I looked at it, somehow, it just looked more and more disgusting...

@LukeAlmighty
To be fair, tinkering with Proton layers and not being able to play EVERY PC game is a turn off for most people. But that says more about the vidya industry than Valve.

@colahpse
Except... Since I have bought the dect, I didn't feel the need to thinker with anything.

In fact, and I know this sounds insane....
Some games worked even better on the deck, then on my PC. GTA IV for example didn't have the drunk camera, that I did get on PC.

@LukeAlmighty
Some games require tinkering though, namely ones that AREN'T explicitly Deck Verified/Playable. But yeah, it's shocking how many games just work out of the box.
