It's depressing to be reading the Czech Twitter, since I just found out, that the czech boomers literally believe, that internet anonimity is useless, and only criminals need it.

@LukeAlmighty I first heard "the internet must be only first name last name passport-accessed" first more than a decade ago from my mom

@tomie @LukeAlmighty I haven't heard any of the sort, although I've seen news articles that say that accessing the "internet" should require submission of ID, although they mean social media, as it seems that's the only use of the internet.

So, it does fit I think. As far, as I know, Zuckerberg was a HUGE proponent of "only REAL humans on my site" policy.

@LukeAlmighty to be fair, long before Facebook there were intranets and BBSes, and often with strict First name Last name policies, too; so it always irks me when people misremember the internet "always" being this fun wonderland of anonymity: no, this was something that came later
