That's the funny thing. They cannot do shit, because...
When we joined the EU, we were promissed this:
Free travel
Common currency
Some trading agreements
But, years after we joined, the EU accepted the Lisbon Treaty, that pretty much says, that EU laws, no matter on what topic are supperior to the local laws. So, they now rule over us no matter what shit they decide to push.
And, it's kind of hard to explain to most pro-eu fanatics, that when I say we need to leave EU now, I am seriously not complaining about the free trade, but I am complaining about the EU beaurocrats now deciding our laws.

And kind of more importantly, the entire cult of the EU is trying to disolve national identities. It is a slow process, but they wish to make the nations of EU into nothing more then regions on a map.
So, that's for their long term vision. And I hate it deeply.
