Almost as if pre-rendered shadows and low poly counts had some advantages
@LukeAlmighty i've seen a lot of people recently talking about how kingdom come deliverance 2 looks heaps and bounds better than any ray-traced modern graphics rendering bullshit. THEY'RE RIGHT. in stills it looks a little bit better, but then you get into motion and there's just no contest.
nintendo knows how to optimize the ever loving fuck out of their games, and a lot of their close partners do too (not you, game freak). i think the best example of it is mario kart 8dx, and the metroid prime remaster is gorgeous as well. it's crazy that you can get something like smash ultimate running at a buttery smooth 60fps with tons of crazy shit happening on screen with 8 players, and at 1080p, but then mortal kombat 10 or whatever it was ends up looking like an early bargain bin ps2 game on the same console.
i fucking hate modern graphics rendering so much dude it's the most distracting shit ever.
@LukeAlmighty i think cyberpunk only looks as good as it does because NVIDIA worked with them very closely on it. i think it's the only game that actually shows off all of the tech well. it's also in REDengine instead of unreal so that helped a lot. rip redengine.
@beardalaxy
Yeah... That game is the Crisis of this generation.
@LukeAlmighty the 8090 Ti XTREME either won't need frame gen to run it at max settings in 4k, or it will be using only frame gen and hallucinating the whole thing lmao.
@beardalaxy
BTW, I mean it.
many times beforere have I praised Breath of the wild and MH Rise as what I consider to be the optimum peak of what hames should look like.
The realistic real time shadows seriously do not add so much to the experience 19/20 times. The only game I can think of, where I really loved the pure visuals was Cyberpunk 2077 (God, I almost abreviated it....) Bit, that was an almost-RPG, so the visuals were used to immerse me in a new world, not just to play the game and enjoy the art of a fantasy.
