While I have mixed feelings about DR K, I love his analogy for trauma.
You have a mental health glass. And you add 5 drops of piss into it. Now, it doesn't matter how much clean water you add, it will never remove the piss.

I guess my problem with the line is, that I am reading it from an ultra-individualistic baseline. Radical ownership is a philosophy, that held me throughout my entire childhood, and only recently did I finally find strength to start letting go.
But, that's what I hate about psycho-shit on internet in general. No matter who you think your audience is, someone who absolutely needs to hear the opposite will hear it too and take it way more personally than the correct guy.
